Do I need an active Texas license to apply?
No. Active, inactive and newly-licensed agents are all welcome to apply — the form asks for your status so the broker knows what the transfer looks like. If you’re still in school, say so and we’ll tell you what the path looks like.
How long does transferring my TREC sponsorship take?
The TREC-side change of sponsoring broker is generally quick once both parties file, but the real timeline depends on your current brokerage’s release process and your local MLS/Association transfer. PENDING: our actual observed timeline in days
Will my current broker be contacted?
Not without your say-so. Nothing happens until you tell us to move.
Is there any cost to apply or to join?
Applying is free, and you pay a fee only when a transaction closes — see the full fee schedule. PENDING: confirm no onboarding or startup fee exists
Do I have to work in the Rio Grande Valley?
No. Summit X holds a Texas broker licence and sponsors agents anywhere in the state. The office is in Brownsville and most of the roster works Cameron and Hidalgo Counties, so that is where day-to-day support is strongest. Can brand-new agents apply?
Yes. Mentorship for newly-licensed agents is part of the model. PENDING: describe the actual new-agent program and whether the fee structure differs
